Just in case you don’t know what these are, the ACT and the SAT are college entrance exams. I know, I know. As if you don’t have enough tests to worry about already, they want you to take yet another test to get into college!? Well… most colleges require that you take one of these. So how do you know which one to take?
Step 1: Look at the admissions requirements for the colleges you want to attend. Some will only accept scores from one of these tests. Some colleges may give you the option to take either one.
Step 2: If you have the option to take either test, her are official test websites that should help you make a choice:
Step 3: Once you have decided which test if right for you, you will want to look into registration dates. The best time to take these tests is during your junior year but you can still take them as a senior. Some schools may even have a day where all juniors take the ACT or SAT during a school day.
Step 4: Once your test scores have been recorded, they will be sent to you and the schools that you selected during test registration. Be sure to visit both test websites and prospective school websites to understand guidelines about submitting multiple test scores.
